Working in therapy with Miche There are a variety of approaches to psychotherapy and counselling on offer today, which can be confusing if you are coming to it for the first time. That said, it has repeatedly been shown that the success of therapy depends on the quality of relationship and rapport between client and therapist, rather than the model they are working from. This means that it is important to find a therapist who you feel you can work with. In terms of theoretical background, I practice therapy from a humanistic and somatic-formative perspective. (Please click on each for further information.) In practical terms, sessions mostly involve talking about what is affecting you. They can also, if appropriate, include dream work, guided visualisations, cognitive techniques, role play, anger management skills, art/drawing or other exercises. Because I bring a variety of tools and skills to the work, therapy can be tailored to the needs of the individual. I am in on-going professional supervision and abide by the UK Council for Psychotherapy Code of Ethics. Psychotherapist & Counsellor |
